Getting the Most out of Chapter 2: Icewind Dale

Running Rime of the Frostmaiden and want to know how you can use locations from Chapter 2: Icewind Dale?

Something that nagged me about the way Rime of the Frostmaiden is put together, is how we get all these cool locations in Chapter 2: Icewind Dale, but no really good way to fit them in.

Having freedom and options is awesome, of course, but because the adventure quickly becomes linear once the characters leave Ten-Towns, it can be hard to make room for the locations in Chapter 2. After all, why should the characters take time out of their day to negotiate with goblins or kill gnolls when all of Ten-Towns is mere days away from being destroyed by a dragon!?

In this video I go over some of the ways you can do exactly that – include your favorite locations from Chapter 2 – as well as how you can actually make them an integral part of the story. Doing so not only lets you use more cool content, it can actually also make the adventure less linear and more character-driven, which is always a plus in my book.
